"To grow Egyptian Cotton the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in 1916 bought land west of the Agua Fria River. This place was briefly called Agua Fria Ranch, but the name was changed to Litchfield in honor of Paul W. Litchfield, but the post office department shortened it to Lichton." PO Est. Lichton June 13, 1918; William West Burkie PM. Name changed to Litchfield Park, August 26, 1926.
