Hope
"In 1909, the Arizona Gazette noted that under the name of Johannesberg a new town had sprung into existence at this location. It was short-lived. When in 1920 the main highway changed its route from Vicksburg to bypass the location of old Johannesberg, merchants moved from Vicksburg to the new location and named it "Hope" to reflect their own wishes for renewed business. No other explanation of the name has been uncovered."
