"Page is a community erected to provide homes and community life for construction workers of the Glen Canyon Dam, begun in 1957. The town was named for John Chatfield Page, who served as Commissioner of Reclamation from 1937-1943. Commssioner Page devoted many years to development of the upper Colorado River.
