Tonopah

"The post office application notes that the local name for this place was Lone Peak. Why it was called Tonopah is not now known, but that name was in use here on the railroad in 1930. The adjacent area is called the Tonopah Desert. PO est June 16, 1934, John Harvey Beauchamp PM."
